Certain events and life experiences can lead to us feeling distressed and suffer with mental health problems; this can result in us feeling alone, lost, trapped, stagnant or struggling to move beyond feelings of sadness, fear, grief, guilt, shame, unworthiness. These feelings can prevent us from reaching our full potential in life, disbelieving that it is possible to change, grow and find purpose.
J.O.Y Counselling offers a safe and confidential space that professionally facilitates working through your thoughts, feelings and experiences, making sense of them to promote greater self-awareness. Through this process of increasing self-awareness and reflection you will build on your self-worth and confidence. The aim of the therapy is to help support you in taking responsibility for yourself, to feel more in control and empowered to make decisions that are in alignment with what feels right in order to feel more fulfilled.

Sometimes, the people that are nearest to us can feel like the hardest to talk to, or simply you do not feel like there is anyone to talk to. If you are struggling or finding it hard to cope and would like to speak to someone who is not connected to you in any way, in a professional, safe and confidential space where you can be yourself and speak about whatever it is that is bothering you without judgement-I can offer this space. I understand it takes a lot of courage to open up to someone but I can assure you that we will take everything at your own pace.

​Starting therapy can be daunting but the therapy is designed for you to feel comfortable and at ease and whatever it is you are going through or want to talk about will be valued, respected and understood.
